This piece was recorded in Kyiv —it had to be performed by musicians who endure the horrors of war every day. This composition embodies the pain, sorrow and desperation of war but also expresses a fierce anger—anger at those who allowed this tragedy to unfold, anger at the loss of the best among us, and anger at my own helplessness in stopping this barbaric war.

Darkness and Light

My brother has been defending Ukraine for the past three years or 1095 days! Out of these 1095 days, he’s seen his little girl for less than 10. No one will give him back this time, just as no one will return the stolen dreams, plans, and future of so many brave souls who stand for our country. In this video, Maks shares an important message with all Ukrainians and everyone who wants peace: we can only create meaningful change when we are united.
